PURPOSE OF THE JOB 

The associate who will shape the sales strategy for new and existing business relationships. The Associate will be expected to think glocal, connect dots in the ecosystem, draft compelling proposals to solve pressing challenges and establish new meaningful client relationships in a growing and evolving startup environment. The Associate will have to keep up to date in everything innovation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sourcing New Startups
  • Screen new, relevant, and exciting startups for business development activities and investment purposes (innovation days, focus weeks, expos, deal flows), and any other related activities.
  • Conduct sourcing for accelerator programs aligning to tech interests as reported by program criteria and partners.
  • Source startups for the respective accelerator program
  • Curate startup lists for corporate partners based on their technology interests
  • Actively network with startup founders at events (both internal and external)
  • Accelerator Coordination
  • Perform additional operational work i.e. Accelerator progress report, final report, Documentation of VIRAL Assessment (pre and post accelerator)
  • Schedule mentorship and advisory sessions between startups, mentors and corporates.
  • Curate startup lists for corporate partners based on their technology interests.
  • Diligence/Investment Research
  • Create and Update Briefing Books of all startups through our accelerator programs.
  • Conduct high-level research; analyze market, examine industry trends of new and exciting startups in the ecosystem.

  • Event Management
  • In charge of the execution of Future Lab events calendar i.e. selection days, demo days, focus week, innovation days, EXPO, Summit.
  • Collaborate with and host corporate executives in business development and partnership sessions and develop a comprehensive understanding of our partners’ innovation challenges and tech interests.
  • Confirm attending startups, corporates and investors for the EXPO event; gather all information for the EXPO brochure regarding startups showcasing; record attendees; prepare corporate name tags and essentials.
  • In charge of the Future Lab email account, answering questions from corporate partners and startups in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Marketing
  • Ensure documents for major events such as Selection Day, New Startup Orientation Day, flyers for meetups, EXPO, Summit are created.
  • Coordinate a monthly newsletter with the team to keep the entire network up to date on events.
  • Project Coordination
  • Generate Terms of Reference for startups in a corporate-startup collaboration, including KPIs tied to the pilots.
  • Ensure the Marketing team has all relevant information on all program activities to produce relevant content.
  • Administrative
  • Document data on current initiatives (startup database, corporate database), feedback forms to provide actionable insights on improvement.
  • Update HubSpot with activities
  • Logistical support for all Future Lab events.
  • Generate all monthly reports for Future Lab, tracking deliverables around the team and reporting them in a professional manner.

COMPETENCIES (SKILLS/ABILITIES & BEHAVIOUR)

  • Ability to manage several projects with ecosystem partners and startups
  • Excellent communication and public speaking skills (verbal, oral and written)
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships with colleagues, prospects and industry contacts.
  • Career driven with a passion for technology, entrepreneurship, investments and high tech startups.
  • Self-starter ability to start projects/plan events with minimal to no supervision
  • High proficiency in MS office suite (excel, word, PowerPoint and G-suite (Hangouts, Calendar)

MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management/IT/Project Management
  • Mastercard Foundation Scholar Award letter or letter of attestation from your Mastercard Foundation Program Manager at the institution that awarded you the Scholarship. Secondary Scholars who studied in non-Scholars Program partner universities can apply with the award letter they received from their Secondary Education NGO (Equity, CAMFED, BRAC and FAWE)
  • Copy of ID / Passport proving your citizenship or eligibility to work in the country.
  • Copy of Highest Education Certificate/Qualification

DURATION & ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • 6x Months Internship Program ONLY, the host organization reserve the right to extend the internship or convert it to a job based on performance and identified need. No full-time jobs are guaranteed.
